Ulrich Timm
Ulrich Timm, born in Mark Brandenburg, and raised in North Rhine-Westphalia, studied ‘garden architecture and landscape conservation’ in Hessen. He lives in Hamburg, plans gardens and writes about garden planning. As a practicing landscape architect BDLA (?) he designs gardens and parks, works for the German Horticultural Show and other garden festivals and is a jury member for garden competitions. For many years he was head of the garden department for the magazine ‘Schöner Wohnen’, is author of the books: ‘ Terraces and Seating Places’, ‘Creating Ponds, Brooks and Pools’ (by Callwey, in the US by Schiffer), he wrote the bestsellser’ Living under glass– the winter garden’ and published the new classic ‘The garden of my father Karl Foerster’ (DVA).
